The restoration is finished. It's not operational but it is restored.

I am waiting on a motor to arrive so I can decide what I am going to do about mounting it. I need to take the blades to a machine shop and have them cut down. They were to big for the head even though it appears they were being used that way. I need to install the felt in the bearing boxes and put oil in it. Once the blades are back, then comes the time consuming part of shimming the tables and getting everything lined up, flat and square. But for now, it is done.

I am finally back on the jointer. I have spent the past few weeks building a Rotary Phase Converter, I didn't document that build as there is lots of info on the web on these. For those that are not familiar with RPC's, they are a means of generating 3 phase electricity which I needed for the motor for this machine.

Speaking of motors, I have the motor restored and ready to fire up. That is the other project I needed to finish before I could finish up the Jointer

The last couple of days I have been working on a blade guard. I started with a piece of cardboard and just started sketching out something. Through trial and error I came up with a shape that was pretty close. Then someone gave me a idea and I was able to mark out a better guard. Now with a good pattern I am ready to make the final guard.

Today I finished building a simple motor mounting frame. Mounted the motor to the base and I am ready for a belt, electricals and blades.
